Destination

The Office Assistant Program is a 21-Week, full-time certificate program, delivered in a blended format and licensed by the Private Career Colleges Branch through the Ministry of Alberta Advanced Education.

During the program you will receive training on computer applications, administrative procedures, and customer/client service skills specific to the office, thus preparing you for employment in today’s automated office. Hands-on learning is emphasized with a 90-hour practicum placement with a local business.

A non-refundable registration fee of $500.00 must accompany the registration of self-funded students in order to guarantee enrolment. The registration fee will be deducted from the program cost. Students will be required to pay the remaining fees two weeks before the start date (during office hours).

Standard Admission Student (under 19 years old)

  • Alberta High School Diploma or GED: 50% Grade 10 English and Grade 10 Mathematics

Mature Student Student (over 19 years old)

  • 50% Grade 10 English and 50% Grade 10 Mathematics or
  • Equivalency as determined by a standardized aptitude test (available at Training Inc.)

English as a Second Language

  • Students are assessed to see if they have the Canadian Language Benchmark and
  • 50% Grade 10 English and 50% Grade 10 Mathematics or
  • Equivalency as determined by a standardized aptitude test (available at Training Inc.)

Transcript

  • A copy of your high school transcript is needed for enrollment. If you do not have a copy of your transcript, visit myPass Alberta to request a copy.
